JID unveils its fourth album ''God Does Like Ugly''
The talent of the MC is an acquired fact, brilliantly revealed in his entire album.
On August 8, 2025, JID, the three-time GRAMMY-nominated Atlanta rapper recognized as one of the best lyricists of the last five years, has officially released his highly anticipated album God Does Like Ugly.
This 15-song project, available via Dreamville/Interscope, once again confirms the young artist's place among the major figures of contemporary Hip-Hop.
After the success of The Forever Story (2022), JID signs a return rich in audacity and offers us exemplary artistic richness. God Does Like Ugly brings together prestigious collaborations with artists such as Clipse, Vince Staples, Westside Gunn, Ciara, 6LACK, Jessie Reyez, EarthGang, Don Toliver, Ty Dolla $ign, Baby Kia, Mereba and Pastor Troy, highlighting the growing reach and influence of JID in the industry.
On this new opus, JID fully deploys his talent for writing and flow, qualities which have earned him a prominent place in modern rap as well as prestigious collaborations, notably with Eminem on the EP GDLU (Preluxe), published on last July 4th. Elsewhere Magazine Hip-Hop had mentioned the release of GDLU (Preluxe).
Collaborations that demonstrate respect for JID
Among the album's highlights is the punchy opening with YouUgly featuring Westside Gunn, a track marked by a dark atmosphere and an energetic beat.
Pieces such as Community with Clipse or VCRs with Vince Staples bring a lyrical density and a critical angle on social realities.
Wholeheartedly with 6LACK and Ty Dolla Sign highlight the vocal versatility of JID and its ability to explore varied sounds.
Born and raised in East Atlanta, JID has managed to establish himself thanks to his impeccable technique, his artistic sensitivity, and hard work since his beginnings in 2015. Followed by millions of fans and praised by his peers, he continues to expand his influence.
