Eminem and JID Team Up on “Animals (Pt. 1)”
A declaration of war, a killer sound and punchlines that rock.
Pure Eminem and JID in angry mode, without filter!
After the release of his latest album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace), Eminem returns to the forefront with a powerful collaboration on the EP GDLU (Preluxe) by JID, unveiled on July 4, 2025. The song Animals (Pt. 1), which closes this four-track EP, brings together two of the sharpest writers in current rap on a production that some find edgy.
With its title Part 1, the piece already announces that a sequel is to be expected. We find there all the technicality of JID, who links together sports references with precision, while the rapper Eminem, true to his image as a provocateur, drops some striking punchlines, including a notable dig at Puff Daddy and the death of 2pac.
“I do it like Puff do it, tell my hitter to hit him up, “Do it”
So like my middle fingers to a Tupac song, you know that I put 'em up to it"
The recently released black and white lyrical video highlights the richness of the lyrics and the artistic complicity between the two rappers. The announcement of a Part 2 for Animals is already generating strong anticipation among rap fans, eager to discover the rest of this high-flying duel.
However, this verbal intensity is not unanimous: some fans, especially among the new generation, consider the song's lyrics to be excessive or provocative at times. But it's essential to remember that Eminem, above all, embodies a stage persona. Since his debut, he has played with boundaries, blurred the lines between fiction and reality, and used excess as an artistic weapon to provoke, shock, and make people think.

This new EP from JID, which also brings together 6LACK and Lil Yachty, demonstrates that the veteran Eminem always knows how to stay in tune with the times and surround himself with the talents of the new generation of rap.
