When Hip-Hop takes root in the vines: DMC x Old York Cellars
The King DMC Reserve 2023 edition is the culmination of this, with carefully crafted red and white vintages.

RINGOES, NJ – Rap icon and founding member of the legendary group Run-DMC, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels proves once again that his success is not limited to music. This time, he is making waves in a vineyard.
On August 28th, Old York Cellars, a renowned New Jersey winery, will host an exclusive evening to celebrate the wine launch King DMC Reserve 2023. This unique event will combine fine wine, gastronomy, and Hip-Hop culture, all in the presence of the rapper turned entrepreneur and philanthropist.
For the new generation who does not yet know DMC of the legendary group Run-DMC, here is an overview:
A collaboration between wine, culture and social cause
Since 2020, Darryl McDaniels has partnered with Old York Cellars to create Darryl Mack Cellars, a premium wine line that combines music, community engagement and love of the land. The edition King DMC Reserve 2023 marks the culmination of this collaboration, offering carefully crafted red and white vintages.
But beyond the tasting, the project has a greater mission: support children in foster care. A portion of the income generated by the sale of bottles is donated to The Felix Organization, an association founded in 2006 by McDaniels himself, dedicated to providing positive and educational experiences to young people in care.
“Wine brings people together, just like music. This collection is a celebration and a way to give back to the community. I am honored to see this initiative come to fruition with Old York Cellars.", said DMC.

An evening at the crossroads of worlds
For David Wolin, owner of the estate, this collaboration is a strong example of what innovation can be in the wine world:
“Working with DMC is a unique opportunity. We combine our passions to offer an authentic and engaging experience, both in terms of taste and human touch.”
This kind of initiative reminds us that Hip-Hop culture is not limited to music: it is also a vector of social influence, creative entrepreneurship and unexpected alliances. By inviting himself into the vineyards, DMC blurs the lines between genders, generations and backgrounds.
