“Rap Kingpin”: Ghostface Killah makes an imperial comeback
Ghostface called the project not a sequel, but a "state of mind," a rekindling of the spirit of the original Supreme Clientele.
Ghostface Killah, emblematic member of the Wu-Tang Clan, continues with a new single entitled Rap Kingpin, which comes from his latest album Supreme Clientele 2. With this song, he recalls his importance in the history of rap and confirms that he remains a respected and listened to figure.
At a time when many rappers of his generation are choosing to step back, Ghostface Killah demonstrates that it continues to have a voice and a place in today's culture. Rap Kingpin acts as a reminder: his journey is not only behind him, it is also part of the present.
Released on July 31, 2025, Rap Kingpin was produced by Ghostface in collaboration with Scram Jones. The music is based on a sample of My Melody by Eric B. & Rakim, an assumed nod to the origins of Hip-Hop, while reusing familiar sounds from his own repertoire, notably Mighty Healthy.
Ghostface proves that he remains a reference and that he still knows how to speak to both the old and new generations.
