Rhymesayers Entertainment raises the stakes with Pay the Man, the new video from Aesop Rock. The Long Island veteran, a key figure in alternative rap and a dominant force in the underground since the late 90s, returns with a wild visual that fits perfectly with his universe.

The video, illustrated and animated by Justin “Coro” Kaufman, feels like a moving dream saturated with colors, packed with details rolling by in sync with the visuals and the words. Everything keeps shifting, as if Aesop’s imagination were unfolding right in front of us. The sharp cuts by Forest Pond add an extra layer of texture, almost tactile.

Active since 1998, Aesop Rock proves once again why he remains one of the forerunners of alternative rap: always against the grain, always ahead of the curve. Pay the Man this is not just a music video, it's a new piece in a career that refuses to stand still.
