The Toronto rapper Lil Berete just released his new official clip By Myself, available since April 16 on YouTube and streaming platforms.
Who is Lil Berete?
Lil Berete, his real name Yaya Berete, is from Regent Park, an iconic area of downtown Toronto. He has established himself as one of the most authentic and promising voices on the Canadian hip-hop scene. At the age of 16, he signed an international contract, becoming one of the youngest Toronto rappers to break into the world. His career is marked by a childhood shared between Toronto and Guinea, where he drew some of his inspiration and musical identity, especially in the griot tradition inherited from his mother, a Mandingo singer.
Faithful to its roots, Lil Berete tells in his music the reality of Regent Park, its challenges and hopes, while integrating afrotrap sounds and international influences. He has collaborated with renowned British artists and has accumulated tens of millions of streams on his recent projects, such as the mixtape Icebreaker 2.
About the single ''By Myself''
By Myself is a continuation of his style: a mix of vulnerability, resilience and pride. The beat highlights the ability to Lil Berete to stand out as a solo artist, while evoking personal struggles and the need to remain true to oneself despite obstacles. The video, available on YouTube, illustrates this introspective and urban atmosphere, faithful to the visual universe of the rapper.
