Jo & Lazy: The beacons of Quebec hip-hop illuminate the FM airwaves

Jo & Lazy confirm their dynamism on the Quebec hip-hop scene. Their career inspires admiration, while many artists struggle to obtain airplay on commercial FM radio, the duo has managed to establish itself with Au Canada, currently ranked 5th in the top 6 of the CKOI 96.9 chart. This success illustrates both their talent and their determination to stand out in a highly competitive musical universe.

Two paths, one passion

In 2021, the duo Jo & Lazy released his album Last call. Among the flagship titles of this opus, we find a daring remix of the famous song by Joe Bocan, Paradoxical, renamed for the occasion Dirty Paradox. But who is hiding behind this enigmatic duo?

Jo and Lazy are not newcomers to the Quebec music scene. Each of them has a well-established career and a wealth of experience in the industry. They were notably part of the collective LDF (Front Line), founded in 2005, before embarking on solo projects.

Their artistic complicity finally pushed them to join forces to create Last call, an album that combines authenticity and accessibility.

Distributed on June 18, 2021 under the Faces Productions label, Last call quickly established itself thanks to notable titles such as Disparaître (Sur un train), in collaboration with Vilain Pingouin, and Incendiary (The Voice), with Chloé DoyonThese songs were a resounding success, quickly climbing the radio charts.

Their talent doesn't stop there: they also revisited the show's theme song. It's coming back to the station on Radio Énergie, bringing a Hip-Hop touch to this iconic music.

The duo received further praise and were named Future Stars iHeart Radio from February to Radio Énergie!

In an interview, Jo shared the philosophy that guides their music: “each song carries a unique message.”

For him, the most important thing is to never give up, because perseverance always pays off. This positive and determined vision is reflected in their lyrics and melodies, which resonate with an audience in search of meaning and energy.

And now ?

In the coming months, Jo & Lazy plan to devote themselves to an artistic retreat to refocus on writing. No concrete projects are on the table yet, but their love for music remains intact. For them, creating is above all a passion, and it is this passion that drives them to continue.
