“Forgiveness” by Ransom & DJ Premier: Unfiltered, Real Hip-Hop

When you see Ransom and DJ Premier ’s names on a track, you already know it’s serious stuff. No gimmicks, just pure, unadulterated hip-hop. Their new video for Forgiveness, off their album The Reinvention released a few weeks ago, is real talk from start to finish.

Ransom, is the epitome of lyricism. Every bar, every line, carries weight. And when you combine that with DJ Premier, the undisputed king of boom bap, the one who’s worked with literally everyone in the game, you get a raw, authentic, uncompromising sound.

The visuals are powerful : Ransom facing a priest, in a full-blown confrontation with his conscience, spitting out his verses as if they were a prayer. The image is striking, full of symbolism, and perfectly captures the vibe of the track.

In short, Ransom and Preemo prove once again that they're at the top of their game. One cuts up the words, the other sculpts the sound. Together, they remind the world that hip-hop, real hip-hop, isn't a trend, it's here to stay.
