4-IZE releases a powerful new album: “Slaveboats with Seatbelts”
4-IZE delivers raw boom-bap, rooted in classic East Coast codes.
The Atlanta MC 4-IZE, in partnership with Bronze Nazareth, affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan, has just released his latest album: Slaveboats with Seatbelts. This 14-track album features a lineup of renowned guest artists, including Khujo by Goodie MOB., Killah Priest, El Da Sensei and others.
4-IZE offers raw boom-bap, rooted in classic East Coast codes. Tracks like I Got Mine with J.Reu highlight a sharp lyricism on a soulful and militant production. The many facets of 4-IZE
Originally from Chicago and now based in Atlanta, 4-IZE has a career spanning more than 30 years, which began in 1991 with the group Loudmouth Hooligans. He moved to Atlanta in 1999 to devote himself fully to music. Highlights of his career include his participation in two triple platinum albums by Ludacris — Back for the First Time and Word of Mouf — as well as collaborations with major hip-hop figures such as 9th Wonder, JUSTICE League, Mr. Bangladesh, Talib Kweli, BOB, Gucci Mane, KRS-One, Bone Thugs‑N‑Harmony, Redman & Method Man, among others.
In 2011, Creative Loafing, from Atlanta, named him Best MC for his electrifying live performances. He has hosted open mic nights in Atlanta and appeared on Direct Effect Rap Battle on MTV (2001), American Greed on CNBC (2015) and countless freestyle sets on community radio stations.
His 2020 album, Look Into My IZE, was hailed as a “boom-bap masterpiece” by AllHipHop.com, featuring contributions from luminaries such as Ludacris, Talib Kweli, Sean Price, Planet Asia, J-Live and the producers Swizz Beatz, 9th Wonder, illusory, Floyd The Locsmif, and many others. The album reaffirmed its position as a bridge between mainstream and underground hip-hop.
Beyond his role as MC, 4-IZE he is also a writer, producer, artistic director, community promoter, and a dynamic stage presence, making him one of hip-hop's most versatile figures. He is praised for his witty cadence, clever wordplay, and undeniable authenticity.
