Chance the Rapper has returned with his first album in six years, released on August 15, 2025, titled Star Line. The 17-track project blends hip-hop, soul, gospel, Afrobeats, juke, and dancehall into a diasporic soundscape that reflects both his Chicago upbringing and his travels through Ghana, Jamaica, and beyond.
The album is executive-produced by DexLvL, with the participation of Peter Cotton Tale, Rodney Darkchild Jerkins, Stix, Smoko Ono, Nate Fox, Nico Segal, and more. Visually, Chance reconnects with longtime collaborator Brandon Breaux, who designed the cover, marking their first reunion since Coloring Book.
Star Line features an impressive guest list : Lil Wayne, Smino, Joey Bada$$, Vic Mensa, BJ the Chicago Kid, Jazmine Sullivan, Young Thug, Jamila Woods, Jay Electronica, TiaCorine, Do or Die, Babychiefdoit, Lion Babe and Raachel Robinson.
Highlights include the single Tree (with Lil Wayne & Smino), a reflective but vibrant anthem, as well as powerful, socially charged tracks like No More Old Men, Drapetomania and The Negro Problem.
To support the release, Chance launches the And We Back tour on September 26, 2025, bringing Star Line ’s expansive sound and message to audiences across North America.
With this project Chance offers his most ambitious and globally minded statement yet anchored in Chicago but resonating far beyond.
