After having met with great success with the release of his album "Blessures de l'homme" last April, which was warmly received by numerous Quebec media and radio stations, Ô-lit recently released the track "Né pour briller" in collaboration with Sammas in August.

His talent was also recognized in France, as he was named artist of the month for October by Radio Localitiz. Today, Ô-lit reveals a new one to us single, titled "Crimes", in featuring with Ocho Green.

Originally composed by Maws, the instrumental imbued with Arabic and melodious influences was worked on by Maxime Gabriel, aka Farfadet. Maxime Gabriel also won the Best Director of the Year award for the album Dixque of art by Souldia during the Gala of the ADISQ in 2022. In this piece, both melancholic and catchy thanks to its catchy chorus, Ô-lit and Ocho Green address youthful mistakes that can have negative repercussions. However, they emphasize that it is possible to redeem oneself and take the right path, while still making a positive contribution to youth.

In the music video directed by Mathieu D'Andrade (LeMind) & Frédéric Paquette, we observe two young delinquents who entertain themselves by committing reprehensible acts in their neighborhood to escape their reality. These behaviors are triggered by several events: one of the young people comes from a single-parent family in great financial difficulty, while the other feels excluded and desperately seeks to be accepted by his peers.

"We took unnecessary risks as if I were the danger in my arms, I would have stared into Medusa's eyes» — Ocho Green, Crimes

These young people commit numerous crimes without ever being caught, but they quickly realize that this situation is too good to last. The intervention of youth protection services disrupts their daily lives. The young people are separated from each other and placed in different homes and foster families, far from their group of friends.

"New day, new crime, When will it be my turn, (when) or will I recover, we put ourselves in danger, it's at your own risk, the higher we fly, the faster we end up landing» — O-bed, Crimes

Years later, these young people, now adults, meet again to carry out constructive projects together. They consider, among other things, purchasing buildings and organizing activities with young offenders in their neighborhood, with the aim of showing them the right path.

This story demonstrates that it is never too late to mature and to give back to youth the lessons learned from our past mistakes.

Mixed and mastered by Maxime Gabriel (Farfadet), distributed by Believe Canada under the label Explicit Productions, Crimes is now available on all digital platforms. The song has made it to the editorial playlist New Franco by Apple Music.
