Quebec
His Majesty DJ Horg delivers a “Royale Cypher”
There’s no denying it: the female talent pool in Quebec rap is today a valued cultural asset.
The Spanish version is currently in BETA mode.
DJ Horg, the « Cypher Master » since the era of La Grande Messe, returns with royalty, nothing less: Royale Cypher. Released on March 5, 2026, this music video is more than just a technical performance; it’s a statement for International Women’s Rights Day.
The concept highlights collective strength while allowing each artist to shine individually. This project reflects two years of sustained teamwork, where every MC shows that their role is fully claimed and deserved.
For those who don’t know DJ Horg yet, he is the most recognized underground and commercial DJ in the French-speaking Americas. With nearly 30 years of experience, it’s no exaggeration to say he has recorded hundreds of artists throughout his career.
The Montreal-based producer took charge of the conception, artistic direction, and music production to bring together the ten rappers. While DJ Horg selected these artists, he could have chosen many others, given how vibrant, diverse, and talented the female scene is. There’s no denying it: the female talent pool in Quebec rap is today a valued cultural asset.
A fusion of generations and styles
The lineup of this Royale Cypher is impressive in its diversity, featuring:
- J.Kyll: The legend, recently honored with the 2026 Dynastie Musique Grand Prize.
- Sensei H: The rising star, named Radio-Canada Revelation 2025.
- Peach Gyal: A true creative pillar of the project, involved both on the mic and in artistic direction and graphic design.
- MCM, Ruby Rizzle, Princess Thuggy$h, Calamine, Sloan Lucas, Sereni-T, and Natty Soyha complete this royal lineup.
Musically, DJ Horg doesn’t do things halfway. He delivers over four original compositions, creating a rich and dynamic soundtrack. The contribution of producer Sarah Bergeron on the arrangements for the first part also adds an extra layer to this collective synergy.
The rappers deliver strong performances in French, English, and Creole. For a long time, women have been marginalized in rap, and this stigma still persists in some circles. This issue deserves to be addressed, especially since many women are actively contributing to the advancement of the culture.
This applies not only to the artists but also to those working behind the scenes in the industry, doing remarkable work, such as Andrée-Anne Bohémier (Bohemaa Communication), Patricia Clavel, Josée Fréchette, and many others.
Royale Cypher is now available on all platforms.
