Revealed at 18 after a series of viral freestyles, Kierra Luv quickly caught the attention of major figures in American rap. In 2026, the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania–born rapper continues her work with the release of the music video for Drift, uploaded on February 20 to her official YouTube channel.

Visibility built on social networks

The trajectory of Kierra Luv began online. In the late 2010s, her freestyles posted on Instagram and TikTok amassed over 20 million views. A cover of Money by Cardi B circulated widely on platforms like Say Cheese and WorldStarHipHop, before being shared directly by Cardi B herself on Instagram. This exposure accelerated her growth and drew industry attention.

In the process, she signs with the label 10K Projects and releases her first mixtape in 2020, Take It Or Leave It.

The mixtape Take It Or Leave It features ten tracks and includes collaborations with Tory Lanez, Ray Moon, and iann dior, notably on the single Run Away. This project marks her official entry into the market after several years of online visibility.

At the time, the artist explained that he wrote only from experiences lived or observed in his surroundings, notably mentioning a complex family context and his personal relationships.

Deliberate influences

Kierra Luv lists Lil Wayne, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Chance the Rapper, and A$AP Rocky among her influences. Before her career took off, she auditioned for the show The Rap Game but was not selected. Ultimately, it was her online posts that opened the doors to the industry.

During the pandemic, the rapper strengthened her presence on TikTok and Instagram, focusing on live streams and digital engagement while venues and clubs were closed. This approach allowed her to maintain a connection with her audience and solidify her fan base.

The music video is currently available on YouTube, while the track continues to be streamed on streaming platforms.
