Posted online on January 29, 2026, Company is the latest release from MC Gawthi. Based in Pune and very active in the PCMC (Pimpri-Chinchwad) area, the rapper develops his work outside mainstream networks, staying connected to his living environment and to the use of Marathi in his lyrics.

Since his first releases, MC Gawthi has been operating within an independent Marathi rap scene, driven by a grassroots approach rather than national visibility.

When he defines himself as a gangster, MC Gawthi is not claiming a criminal status in the strict sense. He uses the term to describe a social stance: loyalty to his circle, refusal of betrayal, and the affirmation of a lived experience shaped by the street and its rules. In the context of Marathi rap, this designation mainly serves to signal belonging and local credibility.

Today, MC Gawthi is identified as an active representative of grassroots rap in Pune, with a trajectory built on consistent releases rather than on a single breakout success. His music fits into a broader movement of Indian regional rap, where artists choose to speak from their own reality, in their own language, without seeking to conform to international standards.
