V.I.C explains about this title:

" 40 Doors is a song I wrote about fighting. I wrote it 3 years ago in Southampton with Jojo and kept it for a while because I felt it wasn't the right time to release it yet. But after the release of my last project and seeing the clear appetite for 2000s-style music, I had to go back into the studio with Jojo to strengthen the track before its release. It's all about that feeling when you're trying to achieve a goal but there seem to be so many doors blocking you, whether it's inexperience, gatekeeping, or doubters. It's an ode to carrying on regardless.

The sound of 40 Doors combines classic American East Coast influences with a raw energy specific to British rap, showing that V.I.C charts his own course without waiting for permission.

This summer, V.I.C confirmed his presence at the festival Reading & Leeds 2025. He will perform on the stage BBC INTRODUCING with his live band, an important moment for this fast-growing rapper, who is already sharing sets with names like Loyle Carner, Tiana Major9 or Kofi Stone. His rise to prominence makes him an artist to watch closely in the UK rap landscape.

With more than 4 million streams to his credit, V.I.C has been able to impose its style through projects such as VARIANT, which has been praised by several specialist media. His work with renowned producers such as Evil Genius, Paya Beats and Ashton Stellars recalls his commitment to exploring his own themes, between self-exploration, resilience and the reality of life in London's boroughs.

Born in Nigeria, he grew up in Southampton before moving to London, where he first found expression in his church choir. His far from easy journey is reflected in his lyrics and in an authenticity that is his strength.

After the success of titles like A Teen, which went viral and was featured on the official FIFA 22 soundtrack, V.I.C continues to pave its way with introspective pieces such as Two Sides or 4am, before releasing today this new single with strong personal content.
