A committed piece, filmed in the deeply symbolic settings of <strong>Kitcisakik<\/strong> and <strong>Pikogan<\/strong>, where it all began for him. On his Facebook page, he writes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-medium-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe filmed where it all began.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And it shows in every image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>A strong and free voice<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Originally from <strong>Pikogan<\/strong>, in Abitibi, <strong>Samian<\/strong> is of Quebecois and Anishnabe descent. Revealed in 2004 thanks to the project <strong>Wapikoni Mobile<\/strong>, he quickly stood out with a unique style, alternating between French and<strong>Anishnabe<\/strong>, the language of his nation. Unlike a reserve, a settlement does not necessarily have the same legal status but remains an inhabited and recognized land, belonging to an Indigenous community. This choice of location is far from trivial. It represents a return to one&#039;s roots, a gesture of recognition towards a territory that shaped the artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The music video&#039;s visuals demonstrate a deep respect for his culture and community, with a simple yet impactful aesthetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>An artist with many faces<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond music, <strong>Samian<\/strong> is a multi-talented creator. He uses other platforms to promote Indigenous cultures and tell stories that are too often overlooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the radio, he hosts <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.magazinehiphop.com\/en\/tag\/minotan\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"1715\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Minotan!<\/a><\/em><\/strong> on <strong>ICI Musique (Radio-Canada)<\/strong>, a show that highlights the richness of the contemporary indigenous scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On television, he hosted <strong><em>On the edge of the world<\/em><\/strong> on <strong>TV5<\/strong>, a documentary series in which he meets people who live differently, here and elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the fiction side, he plays in productions such as <strong><em>One Way <\/em><\/strong>(Crave) and <strong><em>Legendary Knowledge<\/em><\/strong> (APTN), a youth project that passes on traditional stories and knowledge through generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Final words<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With <strong><em>Listen<\/em><\/strong>, <strong>Samian<\/strong> shares a personal and collective message, rooted in a land that matters to him.
