After the release of his third album "Death will wait" <\/em>last March, Obia le Chef<\/a> <\/strong>returns with a new extract in collaboration with Cotola<\/strong><\/a>. Titled "Doggrat"<\/em>, this song is carried by a soft and soulful instrumental, while the artist expresses his truth with an icy detachment. 

With a sharp and incisive mind, Obia<\/strong> addresses the ungrateful with nonchalance, putting them against the wall with the methodical and obsessive arrangements of Cotola<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mixed and mastered by Cotola<\/strong>, "Chiengrat<\/strong>\"<\/em> is now available on all digital platforms thanks to the distribution of Soltec Records\/Symphonic<\/strong>. The song has been added to the editorial playlists of Spotify<\/strong> : Rap Queb, Northern Bars<\/strong> and the French-speaking news<\/strong> as well as on New Franco<\/strong> by Apple Music<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obia le Chef <\/strong>is internationally recognized as a leading lyricist and artist. An outstanding battle rapper who cut his teeth on the circuits WordUp Battles <\/strong>and Rap Contenders<\/strong>, he first distinguished himself with two independent albums produced alongside Cotola<\/strong> (Chung, MAV) and considered classics of Quebec rap: The Process <\/strong>and The Theorem<\/strong>. 

His album Blow gun<\/strong>, on which he collaborated with Kaytranada<\/strong> (HER, Pinkpanteress), High Classified <\/strong>(Future, the Weeknd), Freakey!<\/strong> (Don Toliver, Hamza), Caballero & JeanJass<\/strong> (Romeo Elvis) and King Heenok<\/strong> (Freeze Corleone), earned him significant recognition in both urban and traditional media.

He has made several tours in Europe, notably in Paris during the MaMa Festival,<\/strong> in Lyon during the HiLo<\/strong>, in Belgium and Switzerland, as well as in Canada during the Francofolies<\/strong>, of FME<\/strong> and the FEQ<\/strong>. In 2023, he worked with Benny Adam<\/strong> and Gary Wide<\/strong> on the album "Death Will Wait"<\/strong>, which was mastered by Nk.F <\/strong>(Ang\u00e8le, Damso) <\/em>and which includes appearances of Connaisseur Ticaso<\/strong> and Tizzo<\/strong>.

Regarding his statistics as an artist, Obia le Chef <\/strong>has over 2.5 million streams on Spotify, over a million views on YouTube, over 100 live performances, and nearly a dozen full-length albums released.

It features in Spotify's editorial playlists, including Quebec Rap<\/strong> (77K), QuePop<\/strong> (44K), What's new this week<\/strong> (35K), French Pop<\/strong> (25K), All New Hip-Hop<\/strong> (15K), French Finds Canada<\/strong> (10K), the New Classics<\/strong> (5K) and many more.
